In a dramatic turn of events at the Monaco Grand Prix, F1 stewards have rendered their judgment following a high-speed collision between Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly. The intense crash unfolded on lap nine of the race, leaving Gasly with substantial damage to his car and forcing him to retire, while Tsunoda managed to soldier on.

After a thorough investigation, the stewards pointed the finger of blame squarely at Gasly, issuing him a reprimand for the incident. Despite arguments from the Alpine team suggesting Tsunoda’s questionable driving tactics, the stewards debunked these claims, emphasizing that Gasly was predominantly at fault for the collision.

The stewards highlighted that Gasly’s overtaking attempt on the approach to Turn 10 was overly ambitious and unlikely to succeed. They noted that Gasly should have exercised more caution and anticipated Tsunoda’s movement to the right, as seen in previous laps. Additionally, the telemetry data revealed that Gasly’s rear tires locked slightly while braking, contributing to the reduced braking efficiency and ultimately, the collision.

Taking into account the lack of immediate sporting consequences for Tsunoda and the significant impact on Gasly, the stewards applied penalty guidelines and imposed a reprimand on Gasly for his role in the crash.

This verdict adds another layer of drama to the already intense rivalry between the two former teammates, setting the stage for further excitement and tension in upcoming races. The Monaco Grand Prix continues to deliver thrills and spills, keeping fans on the edge of their seats as the F1 season unfolds.
