In a shocking turn of events at the Imola Grand Prix, two F1 stars faced the wrath of the FIA with deleted lap verdicts. The official statement revealed that both Alex Albon and Pierre Gasly were penalized for track limit infringements during the race.

During a heated battle with Charles Leclerc, Albon veered into the gravel, ultimately losing out to Lewis Hamilton. Despite Leclerc graciously returning the position to avoid further investigation, the lap in question was later deleted due to the infringement.

Albon managed to salvage a fifth-place finish, showcasing Williams’ impressive pace once again. The Thai driver’s performance has propelled him to eighth in the drivers’ championship, while teammate Carlos Sainz sits in eleventh place. Williams currently holds fifth place in the constructors’ championship standings.

On the other hand, Gasly’s race was marred by mistakes, leading to a 13th place finish despite making it to Q3 during qualifying. The deleted lap verdicts do not impact the final race results for either Albon or Gasly.

The Imola Grand Prix proved to be a thrilling and controversial event, with F1 fans eagerly anticipating the next race to see how these developments will influence the championship standings.
