In a dramatic turn of events at the F1 Bahrain Grand Prix 2025, the final classification has been unveiled with penalties shaking up the results. The race saw Oscar Piastri secure his second victory of the season at Sakhir, but controversy loomed large with multiple drivers facing investigations post-race.

The FIA has officially released the final classification following a flurry of penalties being handed out. While George Russell managed to hold onto his second-place finish without penalties, the same luck did not extend to all drivers. Nico Hulkenberg faced disqualification for excessive wear to his skid block, while Liam Lawson plummeted to P16 after receiving multiple time penalties. Carlos Sainz also had a disappointing outing, failing to finish the race.

Here is the confirmed final classification from the Bahrain Grand Prix:

1. Oscar Piastri [McLaren]
2. George Russell [Mercedes]
3. Lando Norris [McLaren]
4. Charles Leclerc [Ferrari]
5. Lewis Hamilton [Ferrari]
6. Max Verstappen [Red Bull]
7. Pierre Gasly [Alpine]
8. Esteban Ocon [Haas]
9. Yuki Tsunoda [Racing Bulls]
10. Oliver Bearman [Haas]
11. Kimi Antonelli [Mercedes]
12. Alex Albon [Williams]
13. Isack Hadjar [Racing Bulls]
14. Jack Doohan [Alpine] (with five-second penalty)
15. Fernando Alonso [Aston Martin]
16. Liam Lawson [Racing Bulls] (with five-second and ten-second penalties)
17. Lance Stroll [Aston Martin]
18. Gabriel Bortoleto [Kick Sauber]
Carlos Sainz [Williams] – Did Not Finish
Nico Hulkenberg [Sauber] – Disqualified

Furthermore, a rule change for the 2025 season has eliminated the extra point awarded for the fastest lap. This change aims to prevent strategic pit stops solely for securing the fastest lap, a tactic that has impacted races in the past. Drivers can no longer gain an additional point for achieving the fastest lap if they finish in the top 10, marking a significant shift in F1 regulations.

The Bahrain Grand Prix delivered thrills, penalties, and unexpected outcomes, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the last lap. Stay tuned for more updates and analysis from the world of Formula 1.
