Lewis Hamilton showers Christian Horner with praise ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix, calling his tenure at Red Bull “remarkable.” The Formula 1 world was left stunned by Horner’s sudden departure, with Red Bull now under the leadership of Laurent Mekies. Hamilton, who has had a long-standing rivalry with Red Bull during his F1 career, reminisced about his early days with Horner, highlighting the progress and success the former team principal brought to the team.

Drivers on the grid, including Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda, expressed gratitude for Horner’s contributions and leadership. Verstappen, a four-time world champion under Horner’s guidance, still maintains a close relationship with him. Tsunoda shared a recent message of support he received from Horner, emphasizing the positive impact he had on his career.

As Red Bull navigates this leadership transition, drivers like Liam Lawson and Alex Albon are optimistic about Mekies’ capabilities. Albon, who credits Horner for his F1 career, expressed surprise at the change but acknowledged Red Bull’s strength as a team. With Horner’s track record of success, many in the F1 community believe he will resurface in the sport soon, given his expertise and experience.

Horner’s departure marks the end of an era at Red Bull, known for its commitment to nurturing young talent. Despite some controversial decisions in the past, Horner’s influence on the team and the sport is undeniable. As the Belgian Grand Prix approaches, all eyes are on Red Bull and their new leadership to see how they will fare without the “remarkable” Christian Horner at the helm.
