Despite having several common tracks, the Formula 1 and MotoGP World Championships have never had a joint event – something that may change in the future, with the idea of a joint GP still on the table.
The CEO of Dorna – the promoter of MotoGP – Carmelo Ezpeleta revealed, as quoted by the newspaper Marca, that the concept of a simultaneous GP between the two categories is still being considered:
“With Stefano Domenicali [CEO and President of F1], with whom I have an extraordinary relationship for many years, we have been planning for a long time. It’s not easy, but we don’t take it out of our minds. If it’s possible, we will do it.”
