Renowned F1 Design Guru Adrian Newey Spotted Analyzing McLaren MCL39 at Monaco Grand Prix

In a jaw-dropping turn of events at the Monaco Grand Prix, legendary F1 figure Adrian Newey was seen inspecting the championship-leading McLaren MCL39 on the grid. This marked Newey’s first trackside appearance with Aston Martin, following his high-profile move from Red Bull last year.

Newey, with an unparalleled track record in F1 history boasting over 200 race wins and 26 Drivers’ and Constructors’ titles, has taken on the role of managing technical partner and team shareholder at Aston Martin. The Monaco Grand Prix provided him with a prime opportunity to witness Aston Martin’s operations during race weekends, after immersing himself in the team’s processes at their Silverstone headquarters.

Known for his meticulous scrutiny of rival teams’ designs, Newey was spotted with his signature notebook in hand, closely examining the McLaren MCL39 driven by Oscar Piastri. This particular car has been turning heads in the F1 community, securing six wins in the first eight races of the season under the F1 2025 regulations.

Despite speculations from rival teams about potential technical irregularities, McLaren’s CEO Zak Brown remains unfazed, emphasizing the team’s dedication to developing a top-notch race car. Brown dismissed claims of foul play, stating, “There’s no silver bullet somewhere in the race car.”

Newey’s presence on the grid sent shockwaves through the F1 paddock, with onlookers captivated by his interactions with Red Bull’s Christian Horner. The exchange between the two longtime collaborators added an extra layer of intrigue to an already intense race weekend in Monaco.

As the FIA conducted a thorough inspection of the McLaren MCL39 at the Miami Grand Prix, confirming its compliance with technical regulations, the spotlight on the car’s performance and design only intensified. With Newey’s keen eye for detail and unparalleled expertise, his assessment of the McLaren masterpiece at Monaco raises the stakes for the upcoming races in the F1 calendar.

Stay tuned as the F1 season unfolds, with Newey’s strategic insights and McLaren’s racing prowess set to ignite further controversies and triumphs on the track.
