Carlos Sainz is regarded as one of the top drivers in the modern Formula 1 grid. Recently, he made a surprising decision to sign a multi-year contract with Williams starting from the upcoming season. This move has raised several questions and concerns among F1 experts and fans alike.

Many people are puzzled by Carlos Sainz’s choice to join Williams. Despite his strong performance in the 2024 season, some wonder why he would opt for a team that currently lacks competitiveness. This decision has cast doubts on his chances of contending for the championship in the future.

One of the critics, Tom Coronel, expressed his admiration for Sainz’s skills and achievements. However, he voiced concerns about the Spaniard’s prospects after joining a team that is considered to be at the bottom of the order. Coronel believes that Sainz may never have another opportunity to compete for the world championship.

During their time as teammates from 2015 to 2016, Carlos Sainz and had a fierce rivalry. Coronel remembers Sainz as the toughest competitor for the Dutch driver, Max Verstappen. However, he also noted that Sainz’s primary goal was never to win the world championship.

Currently, Sainz’s focus is on finishing the season strongly with Ferrari. The upcoming 2024 season presents exciting possibilities for the Spaniard. However, his future with Williams remains uncertain due to the anticipated regulation changes in 2026.
