Formula 1 Shock: Perez Reveals the Harsh Reality Behind Lawson’s Struggles

In a stunning turn of events, Sergio Perez sheds light on the tumultuous journey of Liam Lawson within the Red Bull team. The harsh truth behind the challenges faced by Lawson has finally come to the surface, with Perez stating, “Now, people are realizing how difficult the car is to drive.”

Following in the footsteps of Perez, his replacement Liam Lawson found himself grappling with immense difficulties, leading to his eventual demotion from the team. The New Zealander’s struggles culminated in a last-place qualification for both the Sprint and the Chinese Grand Prix, marking the first time a Red Bull car has ever qualified in such a position in any F1 format. After just two races, Lawson was replaced by Yuki Tsunoda before the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend.

Perez, with a deep understanding of the situation, reflected on his own challenges within the team, “Especially last year, I couldn’t show what I am capable of as a driver. Suddenly, people are realizing how difficult the car is to drive. When I joined Red Bull, there were great drivers who faced difficulties – Alex [Albon], Pierre [Gasly], fantastic drivers who struggled.”

The Mexican driver emphasized the complexities of mastering the Red Bull car, “For me, things are very simple, the car is very difficult to use at 100%, to gain confidence – and the issues I dealt with, even Adrian [Newey, former team project manager] talked about them.”

Antonio Felix da Costa weighed in on Lawson’s demotion and Helmut Marko’s approach, stating, “I think the demotion was premature and unfair, but that’s how it is at Red Bull, it’s Helmut’s style. The 2nd place in the Red Bull team is always an intriguing yet dangerous position that can make or break a driver.”

In the face of adversity, there is hope for Lawson as da Costa expressed confidence in his abilities, “I believe Lawson will react and do a good job at the Racing Bulls.”

The F1 community is left reeling from these revelations, with fans eagerly anticipating Lawson’s next move and the Red Bull team’s performance in the upcoming races. Stay tuned for more updates as the drama unfolds in the world of Formula 1.
