F1 boss Flavio Briatore shockingly admits: ‘I still enjoy firing people’ in brutal revelation

F1 SHOCKER: Team Boss Flavio Briatore Admits He Thrives on Firing Drivers!

In a jaw-dropping revelation that has sent shockwaves through the world of Formula 1, notorious team principal Flavio Briatore boldly declared, “I still enjoy firing people,” during a revealing segment in the new season of Netflix's blockbuster docuseries, Drive to Survive. This season kicks off with a bang, showcasing the tumultuous events of the 2025 F1 championship, and Briatore's unsettling approach to driver management is front and center.

As fans eagerly gear up for the premiere on February 27, Briatore's unapologetic demeanor shines through, particularly during the episode titled “Strictly Business.” This controversial figure, now 75, reflects on his brutal management style, especially following the shocking mid-season driver swap at the Alpine team—a move that left rookie Jack Doohan reeling.

Doohan, who debuted as a full-time driver at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, found himself in a precarious position when Alpine decided to prematurely replace Esteban Ocon with him. Ocon's early exit to Haas, orchestrated by Briatore, was a bold strategy that backfired spectacularly. Just six races later, Doohan himself was shown the door, demoted back to reserve driver status, and replaced by Franco Colapinto—who, despite stepping in last May, has yet to score a single championship point.

The drama doesn't end there. By the conclusion of the 2025 season, both Doohan and Colapinto languished at the bottom of the driver standings, each with a disheartening zero points. As Briatore's ruthless management style becomes evident, questions arise about Colapinto’s future in the sport.

In a bizarre twist during his home tour showcased in the episode, Briatore drew parallels to historical figures, even likening himself to the legendary revolutionary Che Guevara. His chilling admission of enjoying the act of firing individuals who don't meet expectations has raised eyebrows and ignited fierce debates about accountability and leadership in the high-stakes world of Formula 1.

Briatore's storied past is marred by controversy, including the infamous 'Crashgate' scandal that rocked the sport in 2008, leading to his initial lifetime ban from F1. Yet, after a French court overturned the ban in 2010, he has made a formidable comeback, now wielding considerable influence at Alpine, where his penchant for power and control is unmistakable.

As the new season of Drive to Survive prepares to unveil these explosive narratives, one thing is clear: Flavio Briatore is not just a team boss; he's a force to be reckoned with, relishing the cutthroat nature of Formula 1, and leaving a trail of drama in his wake. Will this ruthless approach pay off, or will it lead to further chaos within the Alpine team? Only time will tell, but fans and critics alike are on the edge of their seats, eager to witness the unfolding saga.
