F1 Academy Returns to Miami for 2025 Grand Prix Weekend

The all-female F1 Academy series will once again join the star-studded support lineup at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, scheduled for May 2-4. This event marks the third round of the F1 Academy’s 2025 championship and serves as its first North American appearance of the season.

Commitment to Diversity and Excellence

Tyler Epp, President of the Miami Grand Prix, emphasized the event’s dedication to fostering diversity in motorsport:

“As a promoter, we are committed to doing our part in furthering the growth of motorsport, and the return of F1 Academy to the Miami International Autodrome underscores that.”

Epp praised the efforts of F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff, commending her leadership in creating opportunities for young female talent:

“Susie Wolff and her team have done a phenomenal job leading F1 Academy and stewarding the opportunity to both develop and showcase young women in this sport, which we wholeheartedly celebrate.”

The F1 Academy will join a thrilling weekend lineup that includes the Formula 1 Sprint format and the Porsche Carrera Cup North America.

Breaking Barriers for Women in Motorsport

Launched in 2023, the F1 Academy was designed to bridge the gap for aspiring female racers aged 16 to 25, providing them with comprehensive support in areas ranging from technical training to mental and physical preparation. Drivers compete in Tatuus-built cars equipped with a four-cylinder, 1.4-liter turbocharged engine capable of reaching speeds up to 150mph.

The series aims to dismantle traditional barriers to entry in motorsport, offering a platform for female drivers to develop their skills and gain global exposure.

Rising Stars to Watch

Alpine Academy driver Abbi Pulling dominated this year’s Miami event, winning both races and solidifying her status as a rising star in the series. Pulling leads the 2024 championship by an impressive 95 points over her closest rival, Doriane Pin, with two weekends left in the season.

As F1 Academy continues to grow and inspire a new generation of racers, its return to Miami underscores the significance of inclusivity and innovation in motorsport. Fans can look forward to another electrifying weekend at the Miami International Autodrome in May.
