F1 Academy Champion Abbi Pulling Parts Ways with Alpine for 2025 Season, Embarks on Exciting New Chapter with Rodin Motorsport

The world of Formula 1 is set to experience exciting changes in the 2025 season, as a major shakeup among the junior drivers has begun. Abbi Pulling, a rising star in the racing world and F1 Academy champion, has surprised many with her recent announcement. She has decided to part ways with the Alpine Formula 1 team, a move that has sent shockwaves through the racing community.

Pulling, a dynamic force on the track, dominated the all-female feeder category of F1 in 2024, securing the championship title with a stellar performance. She came out on top in nine out of 14 races, demonstrating exceptional talent and dedication. The 21-year-old’s triumph saw her finish a staggering 121 points clear of her closest competitor, Doriane Pin, having secured a podium finish in every round.

Her efforts earned her a fully-sponsored drive in the 2025 GB3 series with Rodin Motorsport. This opportunity promises to propel Pulling further up the racing hierarchy. In a recent statement, she unveiled her new role as an ambassador for Rodin Cars, a move that signifies her ongoing collaboration with the brand.

Pulling’s departure from Alpine F1, a team she originally joined in 2022, comes after thoughtful deliberation. “I’m thrilled to deepen my ties with Rodin Cars and take on the ambassadorial role,” Pulling expressed. “Our journey in British F4 and F1 Academy has been nothing short of phenomenal, and I eagerly anticipate the next phase as I navigate the GB3 with the team.”

She continued, “Following our successful F1 Academy season and careful consideration, I’ve chosen not to renew my contract with BWT Alpine Formula One Team. I owe a debt of gratitude to the entire team, from the factory workers to our extraordinary partners and sponsors, for their unwavering support. I’ve forged invaluable relationships and created lasting memories.”

In reaction to Pulling’s departure, Alpine conveyed its pride and best wishes via social media. The team expressed its admiration for Pulling’s accomplishments during her tenure, stating, “Your growth and development have been incredible to witness. We wish you the best for your future endeavors and will continue to keenly follow your progress.”

Pulling’s exit from Alpine is not the only significant shift in the racing landscape. Bianca Bustamante, another leading female racer, recently severed her ties with McLaren. Despite Bustamante’s disappointing performance in the 2024 F1 Academy season, where she only managed a single podium finish, she is poised to compete in the 2025 GB3 series after signing with Elite Motorsport.

McLaren acknowledged Bustamante’s contribution to the team during her time as an F1 Academy driver and member of the Driver Development program in 2024. In a statement to PlanetF1.com, McLaren said, “We wish her the best of luck for her future and appreciate her contribution to the team.”

As the 2025 season nears, it’s clear that the winds of change are blowing through the world of Formula 1. With these shifts, new opportunities and challenges await the talented drivers who are not afraid to steer their careers in new directions.
