F1 2026 Calendar Unveiled: Montreal’s Start Time Shift Sparks Controversy and Anticipation!

F1 2026 Calendar Unveiled: Montreal Shocks Fans with Delayed Start Time!

The wait is finally over, and the thrilling new calendar for the 2026 Formula 1 season has officially dropped, igniting excitement among motorsport enthusiasts worldwide! Following the announcement of six Sprint Races, the FIA and Formula 1 have revealed the start times for all 24 Grand Prix sessions, and there are some jaw-dropping changes that are sure to rattle fans and teams alike.

European circuits will largely maintain their traditional weekend schedules, with Free Practice 1 kicking off at 1:30 PM and Free Practice 2 at 5:00 PM on Fridays. Qualifying is set for Saturdays at 4:00 PM, after Free Practice 3 at 12:30 PM, and the main event—the race—will commence on Sundays at 3:00 PM. But hold on tight, because not everything is business as usual!

Brace Yourselves for Early Morning Wake-Ups!

Get ready for some serious early mornings as the season leaps into action with a triple-header across the globe! The excitement ignites in Melbourne, Australia, on March 8, followed swiftly by races in China and Japan on March 15 and March 29. And yes, European fans will need to set their alarms early, as these races will unfold in the wee hours of the morning back home!

Hot on the heels of the Pacific leg, the action shifts to the Middle East with back-to-back races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, before heading to the sun-soaked streets of Miami for the second special weekend featuring the Sprint format.

Montreal’s Bold Move: A Race Against Time!

In a surprising twist, the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal has adjusted its race time by a staggering two hours! Originally slated to start at 2:00 PM local time, the race on May 24 will now kick off at 4:00 PM—16:00 local time (that’s 10:00 PM in Italy)—in a strategic move to avoid clashing with the legendary Indy 500, which typically begins at 12:45 PM local time. This shift aims to ensure that racing fans can fully immerse themselves in both iconic events without missing a beat.

With the potential for a schedule overlap, there’s even speculation that IndyCar organizers may tweak their start time to dodge any conflict. This strategic decision showcases the competitive spirit and the intricate dance of scheduling that defines the world of motorsport.

As the countdown to the 2026 Formula 1 season begins, fans and teams are on the edge of their seats, ready to embrace the thrills, surprises, and unforgettable moments that await! Buckle up, because this season promises to be nothing short of extraordinary!
