Formula 1 Star Lando Norris Denies Rally Car Testing Rumors

In a whirlwind of controversy surrounding McLaren’s Lando Norris, the Formula 1 driver found himself at the center of attention yet again. Speculations arose regarding Norris testing a WRC car, sparking a heated exchange of words with former Williams Team Principal turned journalist, Peter Windsor.

Windsor claimed in a podcast that a Formula 1 driver had conducted private tests with WRC cars, initially withholding the driver’s identity. Subsequently, it was revealed that the driver in question was none other than Lando Norris. Windsor praised Norris, stating, “I hope I’m not giving away too many secrets when I say I know he’s been in a WRC car, and he’s incredibly good.”

However, Norris swiftly refuted these claims during a media session in Jeddah, asserting that he had not engaged in any rally car testing. Dismissing Windsor’s remarks, Norris expressed his desire to explore rallying in the future, hinting at a potential venture into the WRC post his Formula 1 career.

The McLaren driver emphasized his admiration for rally drivers, acknowledging the thrill and challenge they face. While denying current involvement in rally car testing, Norris hinted at a possible transition to rally driving once his F1 journey concludes, stating, “It’s something different from what I do now. It’s about driving cars that are probably a bit riskier, so I don’t know how much I’d enjoy it, but it’s something else in my life that I’d love to tick off at some point.”

Norris’s passion for rallying and his openness to embracing new challenges shed light on a potential shift in his motorsport career, leaving fans and pundits alike eager to witness what the future holds for the talented driver.
