In a nail-biting battle for the lead at Rally Portugal, Adrien Fourmaux is hot on the heels of his Hyundai teammate Ott Tänak, closing the gap to a mere 0.2s. As the road-sweeping Toyotas faced challenges, Fourmaux seized the opportunity to make his mark on the competition, winning both the Góis and Arganil stages with impressive speed.

Meanwhile, Elfyn Evans, who initially led the pack, experienced a drastic fall to sixth place, struggling to find traction on the slippery terrain. With the leaderboard constantly shifting, Sébastien Ogier managed to climb to third place after adjusting his setup for better performance.

Takamoto Katsuta took advantage of his road position to secure fourth place, closely trailing Ogier. However, Kalle Rovanperä faced frustrations with tire choices and car setup, hindered by the lack of grip on the challenging roads of Portugal.

Reigning champion Thierry Neuville battled setbacks, including a spin that cost him time, pushing him down to seventh place. Despite the difficulties, Neuville remained determined to make up for lost ground and improve his performance.

In the WRC2 category, Oliver Solberg showcased his dominance with a commanding lead over Yohan Rossel, leaving his rival struggling to keep pace. Rossel acknowledged the challenge of matching Solberg’s speed, highlighting the intense competition within the rally.

As the Rally Portugal unfolds with unexpected twists and turns, drivers face relentless obstacles in their quest for victory. Stay tuned as the competition heats up, promising thrilling action and fierce rivalries on the challenging Portuguese stages.
