Elfyn Evans, the current leader of the World Rally Championship, is facing a daunting challenge as he heads into the upcoming gravel events. Despite holding a 43-point advantage over his closest rival, Kalle Rovanperä, Evans is not taking anything for granted.

Last year’s results in Portugal, Sardinia, and Greece were less than stellar for Evans, who struggled with the balance of his Toyota. However, with the new 2025-spec car shedding the hybrid unit and sporting Hankook tires, Evans is hopeful for a better performance this time around.

Starting as the first car on the road in at least Portugal and Sardinia poses an additional challenge for Evans, as he navigates the treacherous gravel terrain. The Welsh driver acknowledges the difficulty of scoring well in all three upcoming events but remains focused on outperforming his championship rivals.

With uncertainty looming over the upcoming rallies, Evans emphasizes the importance of relative success compared to his competitors. While the road ahead may be tough, Evans is determined to give it his all and come out on top.
