Kevin Estre, from France, Andre Lotterer, from Germany, and Laurens Vanthoor, from Belgium, drove the #06 car for Porsche Penske Motorsport during the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, which took place on May 9, 2024. This event was part of the FIA World Endurance Championship and was the third round of the championship.

During Friday’s second free practice session, Kevin Estre showed an impressive performance by driving the #6 Porsche Penske 963 to the top of the timing sheets. His time of 2:04.162 in Spa was 0.121 seconds faster than Antonio Fuoco in the Ferrari #50 499P. The Ferrari team is aiming to maintain the same level of competitiveness they had in the previous race in Imola.

The Cadillac V-Series.R #2, with its two drivers, secured an impressive third place in the final order. Alex Lynn clocked a time of 2:04.341, ensuring that the top three positions were separated by less than two tenths of a second. Kamui Kobayashi finished in fourth place, with a lap time of 2:04.883 in the Toyota GR010 – Hrybid #7.

The Porsche 963 car had a strong performance during Friday afternoon’s session, which had cooler conditions compared to free practice 1. Callum Ilott in the #12 Jota team car (2:04.956) and Julien Andlauer in the Proton team’s Porsche #99 (2:05.098) also posted good results, finishing in fifth and sixth place, respectively.

Brendon Hartley finished in seventh place, driving the Toyota #8 and completing a lap in Spa in 2:05.640. Robert Kubica, piloting the ‘privateer’ #83 AF Corse 499P car, secured eighth place with a time of 2:05.706.

Due to conflicts with the FIA Formula E Berlin E-Prix, the Peugeot 9X8 #93 team had only two drivers for this weekend’s race. Mikkel Jensen drove the car during free practice 2 and clocked a time of 2:05.981, placing the team in ninth position.

The top ten positions were closely contested, with only 1.908 seconds separating the ten fastest drivers. James Calado, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, recorded the tenth fastest time of the afternoon, with a lap time of 2:06.070 in the Ferrari #51.

In the LMGT3 category, the Lexus RC F LMGT3 car, despite being an older model compared to its competitors, showed its capabilities. Clemens Schmid drove the #78 car for Akkodis team and led the LMGT3 classification with a time of 2:21.257.

Sarah Bovy brought positivity to the Iron Dames team by finishing second in free practice 2. She drove the Lamborghini Huracan LMGT3 Evo2 #85 and recorded a time of 2:21.372. MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi completed the podium in the LMGT3 category, driving the WRT team’s BMW M4 #46. He achieved a time of 2:21.745 and was motivated by his recent podium finish in Italy.
