Current Formula 1 champion Verstappen successfully held off a late challenge from Norris, preventing the latter from using DRS as the final lap began, and crossed the finish line with just a 0.725s advantage over the McLaren driver.

As a result, Norris secured second place, while Oscar Piastri, who started the race in fifth position (after a three-place grid penalty for impeding during qualifying), finished fourth.

If there had been more laps, Norris would have had the opportunity to attack Verstappen using DRS – a point emphasized by the British driver in his post-race interview. However, Stella, the team strategist, refused to rely on hypotheticals to explain the result and acknowledged that Norris faced a formidable opponent in Verstappen.

When asked by Sky Sports F1 if a few more laps would have resulted in Norris securing his second F1 victory, Stella replied: “63 laps are already a considerable number of laps. We often say ‘just one more lap’. Plus, we are talking about Max Verstappen. I’m sure he faced some challenges, but he maximized his performance with what he had. Congratulations to Max and our two drivers. Oscar [Piastri] paid the price for the issue we faced yesterday; otherwise, he would also be on the podium. Let’s take this positive result and face the future with optimism.”

Stella praised Norris for his tire management during the race in Imola on Sunday, stating: “The tire conditions were intriguing and definitely not as simple as we expected. We lost significant time during the first stint due to excessive degradation of the rear tires. Today, it was more about monitoring our surroundings than just focusing on what was ahead. With the hard tires, after initially preserving them, when [Charles] Leclerc and Oscar were involved in a battle, I believe our initial investment paid off at the end of the race. Lando had the most favorable tire conditions. Besides the overall performance of the car, tire management played a crucial role. We must recognize that Lando has become quite skilled in this aspect.”

In McLaren’s race report, Stella summarized her team’s weekend at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, stating: “It was a positive day in Imola and the first time since 2024 that McLaren emerged as the team with the highest score. Oscar’s fourth place was the result of a solid strategy and pace, allowing him to gain a position on a day that was far from easy. Lando’s second place was an exceptional result. It was surprising to be in contention for the win at the end of the race. This was due to the tire sensitivity we experienced today. In the first stint, Max did a better job managing the medium tires, while Lando did an excellent job managing the hard tires after the pit stops, resisting the temptation to push too hard when Leclerc was closing in. This approach yielded strong pace and a chance to compete for the win. Everyone at McLaren has worked tirelessly to achieve these results, and they have my gratitude for the recent upgrades, as well as for their commitment, hard work, and quality of their efforts. We must continue to improve the car, and if we can do that, we will be in a favorable position for the future,” concluded Stella.

Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo made an incredible play in yesterday’s match, leaving fans in ecstasy. With his impeccable skill, Ronaldo showed why he is considered one of the best players in the world. The superstar scored two goals and provided an assist, leading his team to a 3-1 victory.

The match started at a fast pace, with both teams showing a lot of determination. However, it was Ronaldo who opened the scoring 15 minutes into the first half, with a powerful shot from outside the box. The opposing goalkeeper had no chance of saving it.

The second goal from Ronaldo came early in the second half, after a brilliant play from his teammates. He received the ball in the small area and, with a subtle touch, sent it to the back of the net. It was a goal of pure class.

But Ronaldo was not satisfied with just two goals. He wanted more. And that’s exactly what he did. At 75 minutes, he made a perfect assist to his teammate, who did not waste the opportunity and scored the third goal of the match.

The fans present at the stadium went crazy with Ronaldo’s performance. They applauded standing up and sang his name throughout the game. The player thanked the support of the fans and promised to continue giving his best on the field.

With this victory, Ronaldo’s team remains at the top of the championship. They are confident they can win the title this season. And with players like Ronaldo in their squad, it’s not hard to understand why.
