The Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) revealed on Tuesday that the average weekly price of gasoline dropped by 1%, while diesel saw a slight decrease of 0.3%.
According to the ERSE report, the efficient price was updated, “taking into account the weekly variation of international quotations for simple gasoline 95 at -2.4% and simple diesel, the most used fuel in Portugal at -0.6%;”.
Therefore, “for the week of June 3 to 9, the Preço Eficiente before taxes is €0.835 per liter for simple gasoline 95 and €0.830 for simple diesel. After taxes, the Preço Eficiente is €1.738 per liter for simple gasoline 95, and €1.566 for simple diesel.”.
It is important to note that the efficient price “is a weekly average price estimated by ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in international reference markets and their respective maritime freights, primary logistics, including strategic and security reserves of the National Oil System, additional costs for the incorporation of biofuels, and the retail component added with respective taxes”.
Regarding the previous week, the report states that “it was observed that the average Public Sale Prices announced on the signs, and reported in the Energy Single Counter, were 4 cents per liter above the Efficient Price for that week, in the case of simple gasoline 95, and 5.8 cents above in the case of simple diesel.”.
In percentage terms, “95 octane gasoline was announced on the signs 2.2% above the Efficient Price and simple diesel was announced 3.5% above,” as reported by the ERSE report.
