The Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) revealed on Tuesday that the average weekly price of gasoline has decreased by 1.5%, while diesel has experienced a slight decrease of 1.8%.
According to the ERSE report, the efficient price has been updated, “taking into account the weekly variation in international prices of regular gasoline at -4.2% and regular diesel, the most commonly used fuel in Portugal, at -4.8%.”
Therefore, “for the week of June 10th to 16th, the Preço Eficiente (Efficient Price) before taxes is €0.814 per liter for regular gasoline and €0.806 for regular diesel. After taxes, the Efficient Price is €1.713 per liter for regular gasoline and €1.537 for regular diesel.”
It should be noted that the efficient price “is a weekly average price estimated by the ERSE and is the sum of the following components: fuel prices in international reference markets and their maritime freight, primary logistics, including strategic and security reserves of the National Petroleum System, additional costs for the incorporation of biofuels, and the retail component increased by the respective taxes.”
Regarding the previous week, the report states that “the average of the Retail Prices announced on the signs, and reported in the Energy Single Counter, was 4.2 cents per liter above the Efficient Price for that week, in the case of regular gasoline, and 5.9 cents above in the case of regular diesel.”
In percentage terms, “95 unleaded gasoline was announced on the signs 2.4% above the Efficient Price, and unleaded diesel was announced 3.6% above,” according to the ERSE report.
