The weekly average price calculated by the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) showed a downward trend, dropping 0.5% for gasoline and 1.1% for diesel, the most commonly used fuel in Portugal.
According to the ERSE report released this Monday, the efficient price had an update, “taking into account the weekly variation of international quotations for regular gasoline by -1.2% and for regular diesel by -2.3%”.
Therefore, “for the week of March 11 to 17, the Preço Eficiente before taxes is €0.849 per liter for regular gasoline and €0.908 for regular diesel. After taxes, the Preço Eficiente is €1.755 per liter for regular gasoline and €1.663 for regular diesel”.
It is worth noting that the efficient price “is a weekly average price determined by the ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in international reference markets and their respective maritime freights, primary logistics, including strategic and security reserves of the National Petroleum System, additional costs for incorporating biofuels, and the retail component plus the respective taxes”.
Regarding the previous week, the report indicates that “the average Public Sale Prices announced at the stations, and reported in the Energy Single Counter, were 1.6 cents per liter above the Preço Eficiente for that week, in the case of regular gasoline, and 1.8 cents above in the case of regular diesel”.
In percentage terms, “regular gasoline 95 was announced on the billboards 0.9% above the Efficient Price and regular diesel was 1% above,” according to the report.
