Ericsson prioritizes consistency in Andretti’s ‘varied’ team.

Ericsson prioriza consistência na equipe ‘variada’ da Andretti

Marcus Ericsson is entering his sixth season in the NTT IndyCar Series with hopes of finding the consistency that has eluded him so far in his career. After spending four years with Chip Ganassi Racing, Ericsson joined Andretti Global, a team that has also struggled with consistency. Despite having four drivers in the last three seasons, the Andretti team has only managed to secure seven wins during that period. Their performance often resulted in midfield positions, leading to unsatisfactory points standings. In an attempt to address these poor results, the team has reduced their entries to three for the 2024 season. Ericsson believes that Andretti’s workshop is comparable to Ganassi’s in many aspects and hopes to bring certain details that will contribute to his new team’s consistency. He acknowledges the high expectations surrounding the team and expresses his determination to beat teams like Ganassi and Penske. Ericsson’s main focus is to deliver consistent performances week after week, as he believes this will not only lead to victories but also improve the team’s overall position. Despite securing four wins in the last three years, Ericsson has only managed 12 top-ten finishes in that same period. He had a promising start in St. Petersburg, but was forced to retire due to an engine issue. To achieve a higher position in the championship than his consistent sixth places in the last three years, Ericsson will need more luck and fewer setbacks.
