It is confirmed, the applications for the competition for the presentation of applications for the incentive to introduce the consumption of zero-emission vehicles, included in the Green Mobility packages – Passengers and Green Mobility – Goods, will start next Monday, March 31.
Applications can be made through the Fundo Ambiental website, and will be open for a period of 45 days or until the available funding is exhausted.
“With a total funding of €15.5 million, these measures aim to support the decarbonization of the transport sector, promote fleet renewal, and encourage the use of more sustainable mobility modes”, announced the Ministry of Environment and Energy in a statement.
The Green Mobility – Passengers package includes an investment of €13.5 million and covers: 100% electric light passenger vehicles, up to €4000 for individuals and €5000 for non-profit organizations, municipalities, and transport authorities, with the requirement to scrap a fossil fuel vehicle older than ten years, up to €38,500 or €55,000 for vehicles with more than five seats.
Meanwhile, cargo bicycles, both electric and conventional, receive support ranging from €500 to €1500, while motorcycles, tricycles, quadricycles, and other electric personal mobility devices are supported up to €1500.
The program also includes support for the acquisition of chargers for electric vehicles in multifamily condominiums, with an incentive of 80% of the purchase price of the charger per parking space, up to 800 euros.
“At the time of application, it is not necessary to present proof of vehicle acquisition. The process begins with the submission of the application. If approved, the beneficiary has a period of 90 days to proceed with the vehicle purchase and submit the required documents, namely proof of scrapping a vehicle older than 10 years, using the form available on the Environmental Fund’s website. This way, the applicant can know in advance whether they are entitled to the financial support provided by the Environmental Fund”, the statement adds.
Note also the package Green Mobility – Goods, which has a total allocation of €2 million and is aimed at supporting companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, in their energy transition with a significant impact on modernizing the vehicle fleet.
Thus, the support is intended for the purchase of 100% electric light goods vehicles, with an incentive of €6000 per unit, limited to two vehicles per application.
The support for the purchase of cargo bicycles, with or without electric assistance, covers 50% of the acquisition cost, up to a maximum of €1500 for electric bikes or €1000 for conventional ones, with a limit of four units per beneficiary.
