The average weekly price calculated by the Regulatory Authority for Energy Services (ERSE) registered an increase compared to last week, with a 0.3% rise for gasoline and a 1.1% rise for diesel, the most commonly used fuel in Portugal.
According to the ERSE report, the efficient price has been updated, “taking into account the weekly variation of international prices for regular gasoline at +0.8% and for regular diesel at +2.3%.”
Thus, “for the week of February 5th to 11th, the Efficient Price before taxes is €0.819 per liter for regular gasoline and €0.925 for regular diesel. After taxes, the Efficient Price is €1.718 per liter for regular gasoline and €1.683 for regular diesel.”
It should be noted that the efficient price “is a weekly average price determined by the ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in international reference markets and their maritime freight, primary logistics, including strategic and security reserves of the National Petroleum System, additional costs for the incorporation of biofuels, and the retail component increased by the respective taxes.”
Regarding the previous week, the report states that “the average Public Sale Prices announced on the billboards, and reported on the Unified Energy Counter, were 2.2 cents per liter above the Efficient Price for regular gasoline, and 1.1 cents above for regular diesel.”
In percentage terms, “regular gasoline was announced on the billboards 1.3% above the Efficient Price, and regular diesel was 0.9% above,” according to the report.
