EM90 é o monovolume de luxo da Volvo com 720 km de autonomia

Volvo has unveiled its first minivan, the EM90, a 100% electric model aimed at Asian markets, and designed for users to make the most of their time in the car – in a safe and comfortable way.

The new electric minivan is defined by Volvo as a “Scandinavian living room on wheels,” a model that offers a cabin that feels like home, with a focus on Nordic design, and where it is possible to move from point A to point B with a higher level of comfort than provided by an SUV of the same size. All so that passengers can make the most of their time in the car.

With a length of 5.20 meters, a width of 2.02 meters, and a height of 1.85 meters, the EM90 is based on the Zeekr minivan, the 009, but with an exterior and interior design in line with the latest models from the Swedish manufacturer. The Volvo minivan is equipped with an electric motor that delivers 268 horsepower, powered by a 116 kWh battery installed on the rear axle, promising a range of 720 km (in the CLTC test cycle in China) and can be charged from 10 to 80% of its capacity in under 30 minutes. Volvo revealed that the EM90 is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.

The Swedish brand also announced that the EM90 is equipped with the latest battery protection technologies, including a robust structure made of steel and aluminum that provides safe and stable performance in real-world collision scenarios.

In addition to safety, Volvo confirmed that the model marking its debut in the minivan segment was designed to maximize well-being and comfort in the interior, offering a spacious cabin width and a wide range of intelligent storage features.

Thus, the first Volvo minivan features 6 seats that provide each person with their own zone and personal space. This includes customized entertainment options and comfort control, operated through the armrest and an elegant touchscreen on a surface of FSC-certified natural wood.

In the second row, the lounge seats offer passengers all the amenities they could wish for: massage function, individual ventilation and heating options, as well as built-in tables and cup holders. The second-row lounge seats also include zero-gravity cushions with a seven-layer structure and a thickness of over 120 mm, including high-density cushioning layers for comfort and support. Access to the third row is facilitated by the sliding rear doors, as well as the sliding second-row seats.

The panoramic sunroof covers the entire cabin and includes a curtain and various ambient lighting settings, which according to Volvo provide a genuinely Scandinavian atmosphere.

In addition, the minivan includes 21 Bowers & Wilkins speakers integrated throughout the cabin and incorporated into the headrests of the first-row seats, creating a unique interior sound experience, supported by 2,460 W of power.

The Scandinavian design details are spread throughout the cabin, from the sophisticated Orrefors crystal used in the gear lever to the backlit birch wood decorative panels on the instrument panel, doors, and backs of the first-row seats.

Also worth noting are the two front seats, separated by a central console where we find plenty of storage space and the automatic transmission controls. Furthermore, there is a 15.4″ infotainment screen and an instrument panel, placed in front of the steering wheel, which features a set of physical controls.
