The Skoda has revealed the first images of the new Elroq, a compact electric SUV and the first model from the Mladá Boleslav brand to adopt the new Modern Solid design language.
The new model, which will hit the market at the end of the year and is based on the MEB platform, appears in the first images with the traditional camouflage, which hints at a small lower grille and a lighting signature marked by slim headlights.
Seen from the side, the new Elroq stands out for its gently sloping roofline that merges with a spoiler placed above the trunk door and aerodynamically optimized wheels, ranging from 19 to 21”, which contribute to a drag coefficient of 0.26.
In terms of engines, Skoda announced that the Elroq will have four versions: 50, 60, 85, with rear-wheel drive, and the 85x variant with all-wheel drive.
The entry-level version will have a 170 hp electric motor powered by a 55 kWh battery. The Elroq 60 offers a power of 204 hp and a 63 kWh battery. Both versions have a limited top speed of 160 km/h.
The more powerful versions are powered by an 82 kWh battery, with the rear-wheel drive version delivering 286 hp and the all-wheel drive version, equipped with an additional motor on the front axle, delivering 299 hp. Skoda announced that the Elroq 85 and 85x can reach a top speed of 180 km/h and have an electric range of over 560 kilometers.
All variants of the new Škoda Elroq support fast DC charging, although the maximum charging rates are different. The Elroq 85 and 85x offer up to 175 kW DC charging. The batteries of all four versions can be charged from 10% to 80% in less than 28 minutes on a fast charger.
Skoda also revealed that the new 100% electric model is equipped with the Travel Assist driving assistance system, Remote Parking, and up to nine airbags.
Despite having revealed the first images of the Elroq, Skoda did not show the interior of the new model, stating that the cabin will include various storage compartments and a trunk with a capacity of 470 liters, which can reach 1580 liters with the rear seats folded down.
