Max Verstappen has been, in recent years, the “target to beat” in Formula 1. The Red Bull driver has already won three consecutive titles, the last two dominantly, and he already wonders if the same will not happen in 2024.
Eddie Jordan, former team owner, predicted in an interview with Auto Bild that the two veterans of the current field will not be rivals to Verstappen’s level: ‘I simply no longer trust that Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, although they are well-deserved champions, can keep up with Verstappen’s pace due to their age’.
So, who could be on the same level as Verstappen? The Irishman commented: ‘I only see one rival for Max and that is Charles Leclerc. If I had a top team now and couldn’t get Max, there would only be one pair of drivers capable of facing the fight with Verstappen: Leclerc and, as a teammate, Lando Norris.
