Cadillac Racing has confirmed that Earl Bamber and Jack Aitken will be its full-time drivers for the 2025 IMSA SportsCar Championship, following the departure of long-time driver Pipo Derani. Bamber, a two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, will team up with Aitken in the #31 Cadillac V-Series.R, with the duo set to spearhead Action Express Racing’s efforts in the GTP class next year.
This move marks Bamber’s return to IMSA full-time, having last competed in the series in 2022 with Cadillac Racing. “I’ve really missed IMSA, driving in America,” Bamber said, reflecting on his excitement to be back in the series. “Hopefully, I can bring experience from both the WEC and IMSA, and I think it will bring a bit of continuity for the team.”
Aitken, who has shown impressive form in his sportscar racing endeavors, will partner Bamber for the full season, while Frederik Vesti will join the duo for the Endurance Cup races, including the iconic Rolex 24 at Daytona. “Jack [Aitken] is showing his speed this year and showing the potential to win races,” Bamber remarked, expressing confidence in the team’s ability to compete at the highest level.
Frederik Vesti, the 2023 FIA Formula 2 runner-up, will bring additional talent and fresh energy to the team. Vesti made his IMSA debut in the 2024 Petit Le Mans, and he is eager to build on that experience. “Everything here will be new in America, but it will be a cool experience for me to join such a successful team,” Vesti said. “I’m ready to put in the work, and hopefully we have success and a great time together.”
With Bamber’s vast endurance racing experience, Aitken’s raw speed, and Vesti’s rising talent, Action Express Racing looks set to be a strong contender in the 2025 IMSA season.
