Eagles Receivers Back Head Coach Amid Late-Season Struggles

In a recent interview on the “Up & Adams Show,” Philadelphia Eagles receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith expressed their support for head coach Nick Sirianni despite the team’s late-season struggles. Brown stated, “We tried to stop the bleeding, but I think we just kind of ran out of time.” Smith added, “I don’t think he’s lost the team at all.”

Sirianni, who is entering his fourth season with the club, has faced speculation about his future following the team’s 32-9 wild-card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, the players believe in Sirianni and feel that there were adjustments that needed to be made as a team.

The Eagles started the regular season strong with a 10-1 record but faltered in the final stretch, losing six of their last seven games. The frustration was evident among some of the team’s key players, including Brown. Despite this, Brown clarified that his recent social media actions, such as deleting Instagram posts and deactivating his account, had nothing to do with football.

As a veteran player who has been through trade rumors before, Brown acknowledged that football is a business and players need to be prepared for any possibility. He did not deny the recent trade rumors surrounding him.

While Sirianni will be returning as head coach, there have been changes to the coaching staff. Offensive coordinator Brian Johnson and defensive coordinator Sean Desai have parted ways with the team. Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio will now be leading the offense and defense, respectively.

With Brown and Smith, the Eagles have one of the NFL’s top wide receiver duos. Both players have surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons.

Despite the team’s struggles, the players remain confident in their head coach and are optimistic about the upcoming season.
