In an interview after returning to Brooklyn, Durant emphasized that thinking about what could’ve been is pointless. He acknowledged that the reality was that the team didn’t have enough time together and that players wanted to go their separate ways. Durant signed with the Nets in 2019, leaving the Golden State Warriors after winning two NBA titles. He was joined by Kyrie Irving, but they struggled to meet expectations due to injuries and other challenges. Despite the team’s underwhelming results, Durant believes he had individual success and grew as a player during his time in Brooklyn.
