On Sunday, Ducati’s factory team will reveal their exclusive design at Mugello for their home Grand Prix. The Desmosedici GP24 bike will feature a new livery, transitioning from its usual red color to a vibrant Azzurro (light blue). Francesco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini will proudly sport the Azzurro colors, while the rest of the team will also be present in the iconic blue shade. The new look for Sunday’s race is inspired by the Italian National Teams, incorporating blue, white, and gold elements in the paint scheme.
Mauro Grassilli, Marketing and Communications Director of Ducati Corse Sports, expressed the importance of this design choice. He stated: “The Azzurre National Teams evoke emotions in millions of Italians, and our goal is to do the same while representing our country on circuits around the world during race weekends. For our home Grand Prix at Mugello, we decided to establish a connection between the red passion that defines us on track and the Azzurro color that unites us in our love for the sport.”
Italian fans have an exciting summer ahead, with the start of the European Championship in June, followed by the Olympics and Paralympics at the end of July. However, the focus this weekend is on the imposing MotoGP team as they take on the legendary Mugello circuit. The Italian crowd eagerly awaits the Ducati factory team’s quest for victory.
It’s no surprise that both Bagnaia and Bastianini are eager to start the Italian GP. Bagnaia expressed: “Racing in Mugello always evokes indescribable emotions, and the support of Italian fans and Ducatisti at the track amplifies the incredible atmosphere. The two victories we achieved here in the last two years were extraordinary, and I dream of repeating that success this year. Our Sunday at the Italian GP will be especially special, as we will proudly wear the same colors as the national team! I am full of excitement and can’t wait to get on the track!”
After a disappointing performance in Barcelona, Bastianini is determined to bounce back. He stated: “I will do my best to fight for a good result and provide an exciting show for my fans and Ducatisti, who will be present in Mugello this weekend.”
