DTM Leader Lucas Auer Blasts Marco Wittmann After Collision Drama

In a dramatic turn of events at the recent DTM race at the Lausitzring, Lucas Auer, the current leader of the championship, found himself in a heated dispute with fellow driver Marco Wittmann after a collision that left Auer fuming.

Following his ninth-place finish in the race, Auer’s lead in the overall standings was cut down to just six points. Blaming two-time champion Wittmann for the incident, Auer did not mince his words, calling the race a “write-off” and a “shitty race.”

The clash between Auer and Wittmann occurred on the second lap of the race, with Auer accusing Wittmann of pushing him off the track in a high-speed corner, causing significant damage to his car. Despite his frustrations, Auer remained determined, stating, “This is motorsport, and we’ll cross paths again.”

On the other hand, Wittmann, who finished eighth due to technical issues, had a different perspective on the incident. He claimed that Auer was already off-line when the contact happened and that it was simply a racing incident in the heat of battle.

After a thorough investigation by the race stewards, the incident was deemed a racing incident, with no driver being solely at fault. The onboard camera footage from Wittmann’s teammate further supported the view that the collision was unintentional.

As the rivalry between Auer and Wittmann intensifies, fans are eagerly anticipating their next encounter on the track, adding an extra layer of excitement to the DTM championship battle.
