The French brand DS announced that a DS 3 E-Tense from the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry collection raised €75,000, which was donated to pediatric cancer research.
At an auction organized by the Gustave Roussy Foundation, which featured several personalities, including Xavier Peugeot, CEO of DS Automobiles, and Olivier d’Agay, president of the Antoine de Saint Exupéry Foundation for Youth and great-nephew of the writer, the winner of the DS 3 E-Tense auction from the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry collection also received an invitation to visit the DS Design Studio, accompanied by Thierry Metroz, Design Director of DS Automobiles, to customize their purchase with the brand’s designers.
Available in the DS 3, DS 4, and DS 7 models, the Antoine de Saint Exupéry collection is an exclusive line closely linked to the adventurer’s history, paying homage to him.
The three models are presented in a new special color “Cinzento Night Flight,” a pearlescent paint composed of pigments that create subtle golden reflections, reminiscent of a starry sky at dawn.
The interior ambiance revives the style of aviators from the first half of the 20th century, featuring Criollo brown Nappa leather that showcases unique craftsmanship and the use of beautifully luxurious materials typical of DS Automobiles.
The leathers are accompanied by a unique embroidery technique in the dashboard finishes, evoking the vapor trail of an airplane. Various interior and exterior symbols, as well as plates on the door sills, complete the exclusive signature of this Antoine de Saint Exupéry collection.
The plates feature quotes and drawings taken from inspirational works, along with the signature Antoine de Saint Exupéry complemented by a speedform logo. Its design evokes the fuselage of an airplane. The propeller in the center resembles a star that could be used as a guide for aviators and, in general, for travelers.
The DS 3 showcases a quote from the book “The Little Prince,” an omnipresent and humanistic work recognized as the most translated in the world, and is offered in the E-Tense 100% electric and Hybrid versions.
