DS Automobiles has announced the name of its upcoming fastback crossover, which will be called N°8, and revealed the first images of the interior of the new luxury model that will be 100% electric.
Initially, it was believed that the new model would receive the designation DS8; however, the French brand decided to assign a new nomenclature to its models, and the new 100% electric vehicle will be named N°8.
DS has explained that this approach links the nomenclatures of the current range with those of future models of the brand, maintaining the numbering but adopting a bolder logic with the reference “N°” (Number).
This strategy is combined with an increasingly assertive presence of the brand, highlighting the emblem on the front and affixing the signature “DS Automobiles” on the rear of the vehicle, in a robust lettering.
The brand further clarified that “the ‘N°’ is a reference to the French language, representing the usual way of writing the word ‘Number’ (‘Numéro’ in French), embodying elegance and timelessness that transcend languages. It signifies the beginning of a new era. It should be noted that the character ‘º’ was designed as a diamond tip, a symbol of elegance and skill.”.
While awaiting the opportunity to discover the interior of the new DS N°8 in detail, the French brand revealed the contours of its dashboard, which introduces a new design language for the brand, featuring a new four-spoke steering wheel with integrated buttons and a digital cockpit with a generously sized infotainment screen.
Additionally, the airy design of the dashboard conveys a sense of being suspended, and the door decorations envelop the occupants while integrating sound and lighting systems in an unprecedented way.
The presentation of the DS N°8, a model that marks the start of the new generation of models from DS Automobiles, is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
