DS Automobiles has just announced the launch of a new special collection that pays tribute to one of the most famous writers of all time, Jules Verne.
An ode to creative genius, adventure, and poetry, each model in the DS range is directly inspired by the author’s work and is available in various shades of blue, as an invitation to discover the world with boldness and curiosity.
DS Automobiles has chosen four novels by Jules Verne to associate with its models: DS 3, DS N°4, DS 7, and DS N°8. This is a true tribute to the French author, on the 120th anniversary of his death.
Each model incorporates subtle and evocative references, both on the exterior and interior, through a distinctive mark, a special finish, and a selection of equipment designed to convey the world of the visionary author.

The DS 3 Jules Verne is an SUV that features, on the exterior, its first distinctive characteristics: the exclusive guilloché and satin chrome emblems that represent a mysterious sea creature. These also bear the signature of the writer, in a Lazurite Blue body that completes the currently available color range. The look and refinement are also expressed through the elegant 18’’ wheels with a Gloss Black diamond finish, highlighted by a golden center cap. The door sills in satin chrome finish, also signed, take the shape of the sea creature.
Inside, the highlight is the exclusive upholstery in Eternal Blue and Pearl Alcantara, reflecting the world of explorers. The pearl-colored instrument panel is adorned with a laser-engraved sea creature motif, referencing the mysterious world of the famous writer.

In terms of powertrains, in its 100% electric version, the DS 3 E-Tense Jules Verne has a range of up to 404 km in the combined WLTP cycle and up to 575 km in the urban cycle. Perfect for “long-distance” trips, charging up to 80% can be done in just 30 minutes. In addition to the electric variant, the DS 3 Jules Verne also has a hybrid version.
Meanwhile, the DS Nº4 Jules Verne evokes the spirit of adventure and discovery for a unique journey. Its sculptural design and cutting-edge technology refer to the technical and mechanical advances narrated in the story of Jules Verne.
To complete this iconic model, this special version is adorned with a unique emblem on the hood, representing a compass with the signature of the novelist. Additionally, it is equipped with 19’’ LIMA alloy wheels, featuring golden center caps. Exclusive aluminum protection plates, visible when the doors are opened, depict the writer’s signature and a directional dial – as well as the DS logo – a symbol of exploration and adventure. A captivating incentive to join the expedition of great travelers.

DS N°4 from this new special collection is available with a 100% electric powertrain that combines a range of 450 km (WLTP combined cycle) and high performance, with 213 hp and 343 Nm of torque. It comes standard with an 11 kW onboard charger and can receive DC charging power of up to 120 kW. At a fast charging point, it is possible to go from 20 to 80% charge in about 30 minutes, or recover a range of 100 km in just 11 minutes.
On the other hand, the plug-in hybrid variant offers a fully electric range of 81 kilometers (WLTP cycle), an increase of 30% compared to the previous generation.
Its powertrain combines a 180 hp turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a 125 hp electric motor integrated with a new eDCT7 dual-clutch automatic transmission, designed to optimize fuel consumption and performance.
With a combined power of 225 hp and 360 Nm of torque, the DS N°4 plug-in Hybrid Jules Verne achieves acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds. Equipped with a 3.7 kW onboard charger, it also offers an optional 7.4 kW version, which allows for an addition of 100 kilometers of range in 11 minutes.
The 145 hp hybrid variant combines a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with a 28 hp electric motor, integrated into the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. With its optimized hybrid architecture, the DS N°4 Hybrid Jules Verne can operate in fully electric mode for up to 50% of the time in urban driving, depending on traffic conditions and driving style.

Another version of this special collection is the DS 7, which combines the symbols of Jules Verne’s novels in its exterior and interior design.
To commemorate this collection, an exclusive brushed chrome emblem featuring the signature of the novelist Jules Verne at the center of a compass design adorns the front of the model. Exclusive satin-finished guilloché emblems represent constellations accompanied by the writer’s signature.
The DS 7 Jules Verne is also equipped with 19-inch wheels featuring a golden center cap.

In the cabin, an exclusive Alcantara interior inspired by “Extraordinary Journeys” captivates with the depth of its Eternal Blue and Pearl colors. The satin aluminum door sills showcase the design of a hot air balloon basket, Jules Verne’s signature, and the DS logo.
The pearl-colored instrument panel features an engraving with the motif of a balloon surrounded by various constellations, reminiscent of what is described in the novel. Just like in the interiors of the other models in the E collection, the headrests of the heated front seats display the author’s signature, within a border in Terre de Cassel Beige.

In terms of powertrains, this special DS 7 offers a plug-in hybrid version with 300 hp, featuring all-wheel drive, as well as a 225 hp variant, also plug-in hybrid, but with rear-wheel drive.
These two versions are joined by a Blue HDi variant, with a Diesel engine and automatic transmission.
The last star of the constellation of the special collection Jules Verne is the DS8, the new flagship of DS Automobiles, which is also offered as standard with 21’’ forged Cassiopia alloy wheels with black aerodynamic fairing and aluminum inserts.
In reference to the celestial world, the emblem on the rear of the DS N°8 Jules Verne has a diamond shape.

The interior is perfectly consistent with the theme of the novel “From the Earth to the Moon,” featuring elegant elements in special materials, such as vegetable-tanned Nappa leather and Alcantara in Eternal Blue, and a Light Gold Beige engraving that adds a touch of sophistication and refinement.
The marbled aluminum, reminiscent of the finishes of the machines designed by Jules Verne, runs across the dashboard and door panels, contrasting with the depth of the Eternal Blue Alcantara finish.
The DS Nº8 Jules Verne is available in its two 100% electric versions, the Long Range with 245 hp, front-wheel drive, and a range of up to 692 km (WLTP combined cycle).
The second all-wheel drive version features two electric motors that deliver 350 hp and a range of up to 645 km.
