DS Automobiles lança coleção inspirada em Antoine de Saint Exupéry

Similar to the world of haute couture, DS Automobiles continues to present new collections every passing year. This time, the French brand sought inspiration from a hero of Gaulish history, Antoine de Saint Exupéry, to launch three models with distinct characteristics based on four of his works: “The Little Prince,” “Southern Mail,” “Citadel,” and “Night Flight” (“Le Petit Prince,” “Courrier Sud,” “Citadelle,” and “Vol de Nuit” in their respective originals).

These unique proposals translate a strong expression of recognized competence, embodying the values of DS Automobiles. “When we think of Antoine de Saint Exupéry, we think of ‘The Little Prince.’ We all have the image of a star. We were inspired by it and integrated it into our graphics, interior and exterior emblems. At the same time, we worked on the interpretation and reintegration of Antoine de Saint Exupéry’s drawings.”, emphasized Thierry Metroz, design director of DS Automobiles.

Available in the DS 3, DS 4, and DS 7 models, the Antoine de Saint Exupéry collection is an exclusive collection, closely linked to the adventurer’s history, and pays tribute to him on the 80th anniversary of his death.

The three models are presented with a new special color “Night Flight Grey”, a pearlescent paint composed of pigments that create subtle golden reflections, like a starry sky at dawn.

The interior ambiance revives the style of aviators from the first half of the 20th Century, with Criollo brown Nappa leather, illustrating a unique craftsmanship and the use of materials of great beauty, typical of DS Automobiles.

The leathers are accompanied by a unique embroidery technique on the dashboard finishes, evoking the vapor trail of an airplane. Various interior and exterior symbols, as well as plaques on the door sills, complete the exclusive signature of this Antoine de Saint Exupéry collection.

The plates display quotes and drawings taken from inspirational works, with Antoine de Saint Exupéry’s signature complemented by a speedform logo. Its design evokes the fuselage of an airplane. The propeller in the center resembles a star that could be used as a guide for aviators and travelers in general.

The more compact model in the range, the DS 3, features a quote from the book “The Little Prince,” a ubiquitous and humanistic work recognized as the most translated in the world, and is offered in the E-Tense 100% electric and Hybrid versions.

The DS4, on the other hand, uses a quote from “Correio do Sul”: “The stars determine, for us, the true distances”, from the author’s first published book. This sentence symbolizes the courage, freedom, and loyalty of a man of letters and the sky.

With 19” diamond-effect wheels, the DS4 Antoine de Saint Exupéry is available with four types of engines: E-Tense 225 plug-in hybrid, Hybrid, PureTech 130 gasoline, and BlueHDi 130 diesel.

Finally, the DS7 sports a quote from “Citadelle,” a collection of reflections by the author on the human condition, published posthumously: “It is the way of dialogue between the stars and us” and comes with a new Criollo brown interior. The Nappa leather is accompanied by Tramontane embroidery and Terre de Cassel pearl-effect stitching.

This special edition DS7 is available with 300 and 225 hp plug-in hybrid power units and with the BlueHDi 130 Diesel engine.
