Driver’s Daring 3,600-Mile Detour: Shocking Move Before Bahrain Grand Prix Shocks F1 World

In a bold move that defies convention, rising star Gabriel Bortoleto took a surprising 3,600-mile detour between races on his way to the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Brazilian driver made an unexpected pitstop at the Sauber factory, showcasing his dedication to improving performance and working closely with the team.

Despite the long journey from Suzuka to Bahrain, Bortoleto’s decision to visit the Sauber factory was strategic. The rookie driver seized the opportunity to interact with team principal Jonathan Wheatley and provide valuable insights to the aerodynamicists and designers. This hands-on approach highlights Bortoleto’s commitment to success in the 2025 season.

Speaking about his unconventional choice, Bortoleto expressed, “I was not supposed to, but I decided to, because I wanted to see the team and to have some time with Mattia [Binotto] and Jonathan.” This unexpected move allowed Bortoleto to delve into detailed discussions about car improvements and strategic directions with the Sauber team.

By engaging directly with the team and immersing himself in the technical aspects of the car, Bortoleto demonstrated a level of dedication rarely seen in young drivers. His keen focus on providing precise feedback and analyzing data sets him apart as a driver committed to pushing boundaries and achieving excellence on the track.

Bortoleto’s visit to the Sauber factory serves as a testament to his proactive approach and relentless drive to succeed in Formula 1. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on this talented driver to see how his efforts translate into performance on the race track.
