Red Bull’s Dilemma: Is It Time to Drop Liam Lawson After a Rocky Start in F1 2025 Season?

In a shocking turn of events, Liam Lawson, the promising Formula 1 driver, faces a tumultuous period as he embarks on the 2025 F1 season with Racing Bulls after his abrupt departure from Red Bull Racing. Struggling to make an impact in his short stint with Red Bull, Lawson’s sponsor, Tony Quinn, has not held back in his assessment of the New Zealander’s performance.

Following lackluster results and a disheartening display in China, where Lawson failed to live up to expectations, the decision was made to replace him with Yuki Tsunoda. Quinn, a key supporter of Lawson, expressed his concern, stating that continuing with Red Bull would have been detrimental to Lawson’s mental health, possibly leading him to a dark place.

However, Quinn remains optimistic about Lawson’s future, highlighting his undeniable talent and the need for a fresh start with Racing Bulls. Despite the setback at Red Bull, there is a consensus among stakeholders that Lawson has the potential to bounce back and showcase his abilities once again.

The challenges at Red Bull proved to be more demanding than anticipated for Lawson, with Quinn remarking, “It’s been a lot harder than I think he thought it would be.” Despite positive indicators leading up to his debut, Lawson struggled to deliver when it mattered most, resulting in his swift demotion from the team.

Quinn revealed that there were initial plans to give Lawson an opportunity to prove himself in Japan, a track where his experience could have made a difference. However, the decision to replace him with Tsunoda was accelerated, signaling the end of Lawson’s stint at Red Bull sooner than expected.

As Lawson navigates this turbulent phase in his career, Quinn reassures that he will receive unwavering support from those around him. While the road ahead may be challenging, Quinn believes in Lawson’s capabilities and is ready to offer assistance when needed.

With the dust settling on Lawson’s departure from Red Bull, all eyes are now on his future with Racing Bulls. Will he rise to the occasion and silence his critics, or will this setback mark the beginning of the end for the young driver? Only time will tell as Lawson looks to rewrite his F1 narrative and carve a path to redemption in the world of motorsport.
