Dorna: MotoGP and F1 will not have a shared weekend in the near future.

The Director of Sports of Dorna, Carlos Ezpeleta, stated that a combined weekend of Formula 1 and MotoGP races is not currently being considered, following the acquisition of the MotoGP’s controlling company by Liberty Media. Liberty Media, owner of Formula 1, recently confirmed its majority acquisition of Dorna Sports, which oversees MotoGP and World Superbikes. Although the acquisition has raised the possibility of a joint racing weekend with cars and bikes, Ezpeleta explained that this is not a priority at the moment. He emphasized that the two series have different fan bases and that hosting a combined event would present logistical challenges and uncertain financial returns. Ezpeleta also ruled out the idea of MotoGP and World Superbikes sharing a race weekend for similar reasons. He believes that separate weekends for each series would be more beneficial, as both have their own dedicated fan bases and can attract similar numbers of spectators.
