Volkswagen, Audi e Porsche vão adotar a norma de carregamento elétrico da Tesla

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that it has begun efforts this week to reverse the vehicle emission rules approved by the Joe Biden administration, which encouraged the automotive industry to produce electric vehicles.

This action is the latest in the Trump administration’s radical measures to undo the previous government’s efforts to promote the automotive industry to produce electric vehicles, after ending Biden’s goal that aimed for half of all new cars sold in the U.S. to be electric by 2030.

According to “Reuters,” the Environmental Protection Agency also revealed that it will reconsider the 2024 rules, which aimed for a nearly 50% reduction in passenger vehicle emissions by 2032, compared to the projected levels for 2027. The EPA estimated that between 35% and 56% of new vehicles sold between 2030 and 2032 would need to be electric to meet the proposed targets and counted on support from Ford.

The measures now announced by the EPA represent a significant blow to the progress that had been made in the U.S. regarding emission reductions.
