DIGGS CALLS OUT COWBOYS’ NEXT DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR!

Who will replace Dan Quinn as Cowboys DC?

The Dallas Cowboys are in need of a new defensive coordinator after Dan Quinn’s departure to the division rival Washington Commanders. Quinn, who had been the Cowboy’s defensive coordinator for three seasons, is now the head coach in Washington. Fortunately for Dallas, they may not have to search far for a replacement.

According to Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, the team’s defensive backs coach Al Harris would be the ideal candidate for the job. Diggs expressed his endorsement of Harris as the new defensive coordinator. Harris has been with the Cowboys for four seasons in his current role and has played a significant role in helping Dallas build one of the league’s top defenses. Last season, the Cowboys ranked fifth in scoring defense and yards allowed per game.

The Cowboys’ secondary has been a key factor in the team’s defensive success. They have consistently finished with a top 8 passing defense in the past two seasons. Additionally, a Cowboys defensive back has led the league in interceptions twice in the last three years, with Daron Bland in 2023 and Diggs in 2021.

Harris transitioned to coaching after an impressive 14-year playing career in the NFL. As a cornerback, he played in 163 consecutive games from 1998-2008 and earned two Pro Bowl selections. With 11 seasons of NFL coaching experience, Harris is undoubtedly qualified for a defensive coordinator position. While there are rumors that he may follow Quinn to Washington and become the Commanders’ defensive coordinator, it remains to be seen where Harris’s heart truly lies if the Cowboys offer him the same job.

The Cowboys players hold Harris in high regard and would likely rally around him as their defensive coordinator. It seems that Dallas has a clear and easy choice in front of them.
