Derrick Henry, the former star running back for the Tennessee Titans, is set to enter NFL free agency this offseason. After eight seasons with the Titans, it seems his time in Tennessee has come to an end. This departure could make him a highly sought-after player in the open market, despite the recent devaluation of star running backs.
Marcus Spears of ESPN believes that Henry should sign with the Dallas Cowboys. Spears stated, “Derrick Henry should be a top priority for the Dallas Cowboys if they’re trying to go all-in and have an opportunity to win a championship.” He made this suggestion during the season and stands by it.
Although Henry may not be the dominant force he once was, he could be a great addition to the Cowboys’ roster. He would have the opportunity to share touches with Tony Pollard in Dallas. In the 2023 season, Henry rushed for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns in 17 games with the Titans. He also caught 28 passes for 214 receiving yards.
If the Cowboys were to sign Henry, it would be a significant boost to their already formidable offense. The addition of Henry would make them even more intimidating in the upcoming season.
