Derani lidera para a Cadillac na metade de Sebring.

#31: Whelen Cadillac Racing, Cadillac V-Series.R, GTP: Pipo Derani, Jack Aitken, Tom Blomqvist

At the halfway point of this year’s 12 Hours of Sebring race, Pipo Derani is currently leading driving the #31 Action Express Cadillac V-Series.R. The race has recently resumed after the sixth full-course yellow flag.

Derani started the race from the front position and dominated much of the first hour. Despite pit stop strategies and full-course yellow flags, the red Cadillac remained consistently in the lead with Derani’s teammates, Tom Blomqvist and Jack Aitken, also taking turns at the wheel.

Ricky Taylor, driving the #10 WTRAndretti Acura ARX-06, held the second position until Felipe Nasr overtook him during the most recent restart. Nasr had already taken the lead from Nick Yelloly in the #25 BMW M Hybrid V8 during the fourth full-course yellow flag. On the restart, the Portuguese driver in the Acura took the lead, with Blomqvist quickly passing Yelloly for second place.

The most recent yellow flag was caused by PJ Hyett, the LMP2 pole position in the #99 AO Racing Oreca 07-Gibson, who hit the tire barriers. The marshals removed the car from the track, and Hyett returned to the pits with significant damage to the front right side of the car. The car was then taken behind the wall for repairs.

Nasr currently holds the third position in the #7 Porsche 963. The car previously led in the race with Dane Cameron at the wheel, but the Porsche seems to not have the same level of pace compared to Cadillac and Acura. Sebastien Bourdais is in fourth place driving the #01 Chip Ganassi Cadillac, while Taylor has dropped to fourth in the Acura since the sixth and most recent full-course yellow flag.

In the LMP2 class, Jakub Smiechowski is leading in the #52 Inter Europol Oreca 07-Gibson. While one of the United Autosports cars, either the #2 or #22, led most of the class, they are currently in fifth and sixth places.

Hunter McElrea is in second place driving the #11 TDS Racing Oreca 07-Gibson, with Rasmus Lindh in third place driving the #81 DragonSpeed Oreca 07-Gibson.

In the GTD Pro class, Kyle Kirkwood is leading in the #14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3, which his teammate Jack Hawksworth started on pole position. Although the car dropped out of the top three for a significant period during the first half of the race, it has regained the lead as the second half begins.

Lauren Heinrich is in second place driving the #77 AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, while Mirko Bortolotti holds third place in the #19 Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.

In the GTD class, Russell Ward is leading in the #57 Winward Mercedes AMG-GT3. The car made an impressive comeback after being sent to the back of the grid due to a technical violation during qualifying, where it had initially secured pole position. Jan Heylen is in second place driving the #120 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R, while Robby Foley holds third place in the #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3.
