BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles, is present at the Geneva Motor Show, where it presents the premium sub-brand Denza, which includes the standout fully electric D9 minivan.

With three rows of adjustable and foldable seats in a 2+2+3 configuration, with independent ventilation and massage function, providing ample legroom and considerable luggage space due to the extra-long wheelbase of 3110 mm, the Denza D9 is a luxury minivan.

In addition, there is an infotainment system in the rear seats with two screens installed on the backs of the front seats, along with a small refrigerator that can hold six bottles.

The rear seats have USB ports and a central armrest, as well as LED ambient lighting and a Dynaudio sound system speaker.

Aesthetically, this Denza D9 resembles other minivan models, such as the Volvo EM90 or the Lexus LM, the latter already available in the national market, making use of a generously sized grille and sliding doors.

Despite preparing for the arrival in the European market of this minivan, Denza has not revealed many details about the model, but it is certain that the Chinese version is presented with a length of 5.25 meters, width of 1.96 meters, height of 1.92 meters, and a wheelbase of 3.11 meters.

Denza has already announced that the D9 will be launched in Europe initially in the 100% electric version based on the purely electric e-Platform 3.0, offering a range of 600 km. Everything indicates that the European version will have the same powertrain as the Chinese variant, namely front-wheel drive with an electric motor of 308 hp and 360 Nm, powered by a 103.4 kWh LFP (iron lithium phosphate) battery.

On the other hand, the all-wheel drive variant adds a motor installed on the rear axle with 60 hp and 110 Nm of torque, allowing for a combined power of 369 hp and 470 Nm of torque.

Later on, the arrival of the plug-in hybrid variant BYD DM-i is expected, which combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 137 hp and 231 Nm of torque, with an electric motor installed on the front axle with 228 hp and 340 Nm of torque, and is powered by a 20.39 kWh battery.
