Denny Hamlin’s Explosive Admission: A Race to Regret After Collision with Ty Gibbs!

In a dramatic display of racing tension, Denny Hamlin, the veteran star of Joe Gibbs Racing, found himself embroiled in controversy during the electrifying Mobil 1 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 21, 2025. As the dust settled, Hamlin openly acknowledged his blunder after a fiery clash with his own teammate, Ty Gibbs, leaving fans and analysts buzzing about the implications for their championship hopes.

Starting the race from a commendable ninth position, Hamlin piloted his #11 Toyota Camry XSE with impressive speed, clocking a best lap time of 29.41 seconds and reaching a blistering 129.51 mph. Meanwhile, Gibbs, who kicked off the race from P13, lagged slightly behind, completing the 1.058-mile track in 29.48 seconds at 129.21 mph. However, it was during the high-stakes battle for 11th place on lap 110 that things took a turn for the worse.

In a moment that could define the season, Hamlin and Gibbs collided while exiting turn four, leading to a spin that left Gibbs in a precarious position. Reflecting on the tumultuous encounter, Hamlin admitted his fault during a post-race interview with motorsports journalist Bob Pockrass, stating, “We made contact in one. It was like the fourth or fifth time we made contact, but it eventually ended up getting spun. I made a mistake in turn one, so yeah, I would have made a mistake with anybody in that position. I was trying to get by him. That was a task in itself.”

Frustration boiled over on the team radio as Hamlin vented, “Does Ty know we’re going for a championship? What the f*ck?” This candid outburst has sent shockwaves through the racing community, raising questions about team dynamics and the pressure to perform at the highest level.

Ultimately, Hamlin crossed the finish line in 12th place, a disappointing result that saw him drop four spots in the playoff standings, now sitting fifth. In stark contrast, Gibbs suffered a DNF, leaving him languishing in 19th in the Cup Series points with a mere 633 points.

Adding to the intrigue, Chris Gabehart, Hamlin’s former crew chief, delivered a rousing message to the JGR team, asserting, “The champion is coming from this room.” With confidence soaring after a dominant Round of 16, where JGR drivers Hamlin, Christopher Bell, and Chase Briscoe secured their playoff spots, Gabehart’s words serve as a rallying cry for the team. “Be ready for your moment. You could be the difference in that. Never does it say we can’t win every race. We’ve won the first three playoff races. There are seven to go; let’s win them all.”

As fans gear up for the next showdown, the Hollywood Casino 400 Presented by ESPN Bet at Kansas Speedway on September 28, 2025, all eyes will be on Hamlin and Gibbs. Can they put their differences aside and refocus on the ultimate prize? The stakes have never been higher, and the tension within Joe Gibbs Racing is palpable. With the championship on the line, every lap counts, and the racing world watches with bated breath.
