Denny Hamlin’s Insane Work Ethic Stuns Teammate – A Look Behind JGR’s Success

NASCAR Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin is introduced before the Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tenn., Sunday, June 1, 2025.

In a recent turn of events in the NASCAR world, Denny Hamlin’s contract extension with Joe Gibbs Racing has not only grabbed headlines but also shed light on his incredible work ethic behind the scenes. Chase Briscoe, his teammate, has come forward to praise Hamlin’s dedication to his craft, emphasizing the extraordinary number of hours the veteran driver puts into simulation training compared to other JGR drivers.

Despite facing a myriad of challenges, including the ongoing 23XI Racing-Front Row Motorsports lawsuit against NASCAR and his responsibilities as a co-owner at 23XI Racing alongside basketball icon Michael Jordan, Hamlin continues to exemplify commitment and hard work. Briscoe, who can relate to balancing professional racing and fatherhood, expressed his admiration for Hamlin’s analytical approach and data-driven mindset during team meetings.

As the motorsport community witnesses the extension of Hamlin’s contract with JGR, securing his presence in the #11 JGR Toyota for the foreseeable future, it is clear that his legacy as one of the longest-tenured active drivers in NASCAR is set to continue. In contrast, Briscoe is navigating his debut season in the #19 JGR Toyota, following a successful tenure at Stewart-Haas Racing.

Despite finishing second to Hamlin at Dover Motor Speedway in a recent race, Briscoe graciously acknowledged his teammate’s prowess on the track, highlighting Hamlin’s impressive track record of 58 Cup race wins. The duo’s strong performance at the ‘Monster Mile’ was further bolstered by their teammate Ty Gibbs’s fifth-place finish, solidifying Joe Gibbs Racing’s dominance over the weekend.

However, not all was smooth sailing for the JGR team, as Christopher Bell’s misfortune saw him spin out while contending for the lead with Hamlin, resulting in an 18th place finish. Nonetheless, the collective success and camaraderie displayed by Briscoe, Hamlin, and the rest of the JGR team underscore the competitive spirit and skill that define NASCAR racing.

In a sport where split-second decisions and unwavering determination reign supreme, Denny Hamlin and his cohorts at Joe Gibbs Racing continue to set the bar high, inspiring both fans and fellow drivers with their relentless pursuit of excellence on and off the track.
