Denny Hamlin Aims for History with Third Consecutive Win at Bristol

In a jaw-dropping turn of events, Denny Hamlin of Joe Gibbs Racing is on the brink of making NASCAR history by clinching a third straight victory at Bristol Motor Speedway. Fresh off back-to-back wins at Martinsville Speedway and Darlington Raceway, Hamlin is set to compete in Sunday’s Food City 500, eyeing a remarkable achievement that could solidify his legacy in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season.

If Hamlin secures the win at Bristol, he will follow in the footsteps of teammate Christopher Bell, who dominated the second, third, and fourth races of the season at different tracks. Last season, the spring race at Bristol Motor Speedway witnessed a return to its concrete surface, where Hamlin emerged victorious for the third time in the last eight races at the 0.533-mile short track.

Known for his exceptional tire management skills, Hamlin’s strategic prowess could play a pivotal role in securing another triumph at Bristol. Despite the challenges posed by tire fall-off in the previous year’s event, Hamlin remains confident about his performance in the upcoming race, anticipating conditions similar to last fall’s Bristol Night Race, which was clinched by Kyle Larson.

Larson, a formidable contender in his own right, is gearing up for a triple challenge by participating in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race on Friday, the NASCAR Xfinity Series event on Saturday, and the Cup race on Sunday. With an opportunity to sweep the weekend, Larson aims to achieve a feat only accomplished twice before at Bristol, notably by Kyle Busch in 2010 and 2017.

As anticipation builds for the thrilling races ahead, the track at Bristol Motor Speedway will be treated with PJ1 Trackbite for all three events this weekend, introducing a new dynamic to the competition. While Chris Buescher stands out as the only Bristol winner in the last eight races to secure victory from a starting position outside the top five, the significance of qualifying positions cannot be overlooked.

With Hamlin leading the pack with four pole positions at Thunder Valley, the stage is set for a showdown of epic proportions at Bristol Motor Speedway. As drivers gear up to push their limits and test their skills on the track, fans can expect nothing short of adrenaline-pumping action in the quest for victory.
