Denny Hamlin critica equipe de Austin Hill por encurralá-lo durante controvérsia nos boxes em Kansas.

Denny Hamlin emerges as the favorite for victory in the Kansas race. The event brought back pleasant memories of the previous race in Atlanta, where Hamlin won in an exciting manner. However, his chances of success were hampered when he encountered a peculiar incident in his pit box, causing him to finish in a disappointing fifth place.

Hamlin was leading the race and had the momentum on his side, thanks to his recent victory in Dover. He confidently declared that he would dominate all oval races and seemed to be on track for another triumph in Kansas. Unfortunately, fate turned against him when he got stuck behind another driver’s Chevy in the pit box, resulting in the loss of valuable time.

Reflecting on the race, Hamlin recalled how his pit crew acted maturely in a similar situation in Talladega, allowing the leading car to exit. He believed it was common sense for both drivers and teams to prioritize the leading car if they were not competing for position. Unfortunately, the pit crew of the Kaulig Racing driver did not adhere to this principle, potentially costing Hamlin the victory.

Despite the setbacks, Hamlin led the race for an impressive 71 laps and even won the first stage. However, a poorly executed pit stop allowed Kyle Larson to take the lead and ultimately win the race by a mere 0.001 seconds. This put pressure on Hamlin to regain his position among the top contenders as he fell back in the pack.

In the final stage, Hamlin faced additional difficulties due to errors during pit stops, which caused him to fall even further back in the pack. However, thanks to the strategic decisions made by his crew chief, he was able to recover and finish in fifth place. Hamlin expressed satisfaction with his recovery in the race and set his sights on the championship. Currently, he sits in fourth place in the provisional standings with 411 points, a score that could increase in the upcoming races.
