Denny Hamlin claims Austin Dillon crossed a clear line with deliberate double crash to win Cook Out 400

Denny Hamin is extremely angry with Austin Dillon, but he understands that there is no use in publicly criticizing him since NASCAR will not impose any fines.

The conclusion of the 2024 Cook Out 400 at Richmond witnessed two of the most accomplished drivers in the history of the track facing their worst nightmare. The driver of the No:8 Chevy for Richard Childress Racing emerged victorious in the race, causing a collision with Joe Gibbs Racing’s vehicle and Team Penske Racing’s car in the final corner of the race.

Denny Hamlin is livid about the maneuver executed by Austin Dillon. He asserts that the RCR driver exceeded the acceptable boundaries with his actions at Richmond, but acknowledges that the vague definition of those boundaries works in Dillon’s favor. Hamlin believes that despite the existence of regulations, NASCAR never penalizes drivers for such actions, and he expects the same outcome this time as well.

Denny Hamlin argues that NASCAR punishes drivers by sidelining them for two laps for actions similar to what Austin Dillon did. He believes that this should not be tolerated and considers it an example of the current lawlessness in NASCAR.

The experienced driver highlights that although the maneuver was unfair, NASCAR often views it as acceptable. He sarcastically points out that NASCAR frequently rewards aggressive driving since there are never any penalties for it. This lack of action from NASCAR is the reason why Dillon feels entitled to do whatever he wants.

The seasoned driver emphasizes that while Dillon’s actions may have helped him climb from 32nd place in the points table to the playoffs, it will ultimately prevent him from advancing further in the playoffs.

The outcome of the remaining 13 Cup races in 2024 will depend on NASCAR’s approach to this incident. If they choose to overlook it, it is guaranteed that drivers in desperate situations, like Dillon, will not hesitate to wreck the race leaders in order to secure a victory.
