Denny Hamlin was teammates with both Kyle Busch and Joey Logano at Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR). Since the beginning of the 2023 season, the veteran driver has been participating in the podcast Action Detrimental. In just a few episodes, the podcast has gained a reputation as one of the top racing podcasts, generating hilarious and controversial moments that have captivated fans over the past few seasons.
During a recent episode, Hamlin encountered criticism from a racing fan who claimed to be a fan of both Busch and Logano. This surprised Hamlin, considering the iconic rivalry between the two drivers during their time as teammates at JGR. In a humorous response, Hamlin ironically suggested that the fan should examine their own head, as it is not normal to support both Busch and Logano simultaneously. He emphasized that the two NASCAR Cup champions have completely opposite personalities on and off the track. Hamlin also invited the fan to reach out and explain how they became fans of both drivers.
One of the current controversies in the NASCAR Cup paddock involves the delay in NASCAR’s decision regarding a waiver for Larson. Larson missed the Coke 600 due to a rain delay during his double attempt. Hamlin expressed his support for Larson, urging NASCAR to grant the waiver. Hamlin believes Larson did his best to race at CMS and that it was the rain that ultimately prevented him from having the opportunity. Hamlin’s opinion on the matter is comprehensive, and he indicated that if Larson does not receive the waiver before the next episode of the Action Detrimental podcast, he will not hesitate to share his bold comments.
