Dennis Hauger Storms Oval Debut with Record-Breaking Pole Victory

IndyCar NXT driver Dennis Hauger drives around Turn 8 during Detroit Grand Prix in Detroit on Sunday, June 1, 2025.

Dennis Hauger Dominates Oval Racing Debut

In a jaw-dropping display of skill and determination, Dennis Hauger shattered records and silenced any doubts about his oval racing abilities. The Indy NXT by Firestone championship leader proved his prowess by clinching the pole position in his very first oval race at the World Wide Technology track.

Hauger’s phenomenal performance saw him achieve a two-lap average speed of 166.162 mph in the No. 28 Nammo car, marking his fourth pole position this season and setting a new track record. The rookie sensation’s achievement surpassed the previous record set by last year’s series champion, Louis Foster, showcasing his exceptional talent and adaptability.

Despite a slightly rocky start in the opening practice session on the unique 1.25-mile oval, where he ranked fifth, Hauger quickly acclimated to the challenges of the egg-shaped track and delivered a flawless qualifying performance. His outstanding feat left competitors and spectators in awe, with Hauger expressing his elation at the unexpected success.

2024 series Rookie of the Year, Caio Collet, secured the second spot on the grid with a commendable performance, while Salvador de Alba and Myles Rowe claimed third and fourth place, respectively. The grid is further bolstered by rookie Lochie Hughes, the only other race winner this season besides Hauger, who qualified in fifth position.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming race, Hauger’s stellar performance has cemented his status as a formidable contender in the world of motorsport. With his unwavering determination and exceptional talent, all eyes are on Hauger as he gears up to tackle the challenges of oval racing and continue his remarkable winning streak.

Stay tuned for what promises to be a thrilling and action-packed race day as Hauger and his fellow competitors go head-to-head in a battle for supremacy on the oval track.

Get ready for a high-octane showdown unlike any other, as Dennis Hauger proves that conquering ovals is just another walk in the park for this racing prodigy.
